Cine-Pop Score Card
We at Cine-Pop want to help families make informed choices about what they watch. When we watch a movie or tv shows we look not just for questionable content, we also look at the quality of the movie or show as a whole. This is what makes Cine-Pop unique, we are a team of storytellers and film makers who want to give families the tools to look at stories critically and move past just looking at questionable content when picking what they watch. That is why we at Cine-Pop created the “Cine-Pop Score card”. The score card is focused on the artistic side of movies and tv and is not a content rating. Below we brake down what the score card means and how we look at storytelling. We hope this tool can help guide you on your search for quality content for the whole family.

What We look for
STory
The story is the foundation of every Movie or TV show. When we look at the story we look for a few things. First of all the Plot, does the story make sense, are there major plot holes that are never addressed, and is it a well constructed is the story. We also look at originally and how engaging the story is. Do you have to work to get into the story or does it grab you and take you on a ride. Also we look at writing, words matter and how a storyteller uses words really impacts the story.
Satifcation
Everyone has the movies or shows we love, sometimes its because they are brilliant or beautifully done, or maybe they are widely considered lame but you love it anyways. Regardless of the quality of the piece, if you walk away satisfied that means something. Our ultimate guide we follow is, Did I feel like watching that was time well spent? Time well spent doesn’t just mean that it made a profound impact, having fun and enjoying it is also time well spent.
Production
There are a lot of elements in Movie and TV that go unnoticed by the most of the audience, unless they are done poorly, then we all notice. Production includes things such as, Costumes, Sets. Pops, Hair and Make-up, Animation, Visual Effects, and Music. All of these things are designed to help tell the story and if they are done right Production creates an immersive world that the story takes place in. However, if they are done wrong they can steel the focus and make it hard to on concentrate the story.
Character
What makes a character great? There are a lot of different factors that make a character one that we remember and are connected to. The acting is a major factor but there are other things like, how believable or relatable a character is. Do we understand who they are and why they do what they do. Are we engaged with the characters, do we want to see the accomplish their goals. And do the characters make sense in the story, do they add or take away.
Each Section is worth up to 25 point with a total of 100 possible point available.
All movies and TV shows will be scored off the same score card regardless of genre.
The score card dose not indicate how family friendly the movie or show is, this is only a look at the overall quality.
What We do
Cine-Pop provides movie and TV reviews that move past basic summaries of the plot and a mindless list of objectionable content to ask the deeper questions about the movies we choose to watch. We understand that we as humans gravitate toward stories to add to our experience of life, to take us to new places both real and imagined, and to teach us something about ourselves. Not all movies do that successfully. And in this age of media over-saturation we can spend hundreds of hours looking for satisfying stories told in an excellent way and come up empty-handed. Who has time for that? Let Cine-pop do the searching for you and we will seek out exceptional storytelling that feeds the heart, mind and soul.
